Fitzpatric & Daubner Plow Through the Fields

at Havana

A hot humid weekend with threatening rain greeted the racers at Central Illinois Dragway, with water grains exceeding 120 and density altitude reading over 3,300 Ft.  The racers tuned their cars to many 5/70 ETS over the weekend. Number one qualifier was Chuckie Graves in his beautiful T-Bird.

After 5 rounds of close racing, Pat Fitzpatric found the Winners Circle over Tom Mooney's Purple Camaro.  The Winner and Runner-up gave credit for their performance to their crews led by their wives Dusty and Sandi. Following the races there was a hell of a party in the Mooney pit space.

In an attempt to beat the rain in the area on Sunday, we did our qualifying run right out of the trailer. Standing tall with the #1 spot was Ben Baer in Greg Kolineks' "Kings Ransome" dragster. The final round came down to MWSC regulars Pete and Kathy Daubner's Roadster and C.I.D. Regular Brian Mileham. Pete found the Winners Circle this day in his small block powered machine over Brian's traditional big block dragster.

See you at our next races at Cordova!!
